These improvisations included Salman closing his eyes while applying balm on Bhagyashree's ankles, a glass door separating their "kiss" and Bhagyashree covering herself with a sheet so that the audience could not see her revealing her sexy outfit to Salman. Several romantic scenes in this film had to be improvised because of the restrictions placed by Bhagyashree.Balasubramaniam as Salman Khan's voice for many years to come. The popularity of this film's music established S.P.Actress Bhagyashree got married to her childhood sweetheart Himalaya during the making of this film.It was in these circumstances that Tarachand Barjatya greenlit this film. The production house was in dire straits financially and its Bombay office was about to be sold off to settle its debts. The success of this film reversed the fortunes of Rajshri Productions.It was also the first mainstream Hindi film of the popular Marathi film actor Laxmikant Berde.
The film established Alok Nath and Reema Lagoo as character actors and launched TV actor Rajeev Verma's film career. The film gave a significant boost to the career of music director Raamlaxman whose career had languished after a moderately successful "Taraana" (1979).
Bhagyashree, who was paired with Khan, made her acting debut in this film. While this wasn't Salman Khan's first film, it was his first hit. He was the first Barjatya to direct a Rajshri Films production. The film was Sooraj Barjatya's directorial debut.
